Furnishing a Costa del Sol Home From Abroad, Done for You
Bought on the Costa del Sol but live abroad? Get a designer-furnished home with clear, published prices, no deliveries to wait for, and keys ready on arrival.
How to Furnish Your Costa del Sol Apartment From Abroad (Without Flying Back Five Times)
You did the hard work: you found the apartment, made an offer to reserve it, made it to closing day at the notary, and the keys are finally yours. You are excited because you finally are at the point where you are either making the move here or have a second home here and plan on spending time in the sun several times a year…. Or are planning to use it and rent it.
That is the fun part but then reality sets in: the place is completely empty, and you are 2,000 kilometers away.
If you are trying to furnish an apartment on the Costa del Sol from abroad, you already know the questions keeping you up at night: Who will be there when the sofa arrives? Will the bed actually fit? What is this all going to cost by the time it's done and Will you actually like it?
Those two worries, being there and the real cost, come up in almost every conversation I have with international buyers. So let's talk about them one at a time.
"I'm abroad and can't be there for deliveries"
Furnishing a home in Spain usually means five or six suppliers, each with its own delivery window and while the: "Sometime between 9 and 2" delivery timeline is common throughout the world, in Spain that delivery timeline can actually be a day or 2 later especially since the delivery person may not speak English at all even though the sales person does. So this all may mean in reality a push back another week or two.
For owners living in London, Stockholm, Dubai, the USA or Canada, that turns into a string of problems:
• Flights booked around delivery dates that may in reality change
• Neighbors or agents asked to "just let the driver in" – but the real estate agents and neighbors in all honesty, cannot be at the house from 9-2 time window
• Boxes may be left in the living room, unassembled, for weeks
• A rug that's too small and a sofa that blocks the terrace door
• No one checking for damage before the driver leaves
Even when everything arrives, a delivered apartment is not a finished home. Someone still has to assemble, place, hang, style and clean.
How a designer-led furniture package solves it
With a full furniture package, you are not coordinating deliveries at all. After our initial conversation, I plan the layout either from your developer floor plan or a personal visit to the property, all before anything is ordered, so every piece is chosen to fit the room. I then receive every delivery, check it, and handle any damage claims with the supplier on your behalf.
Transport, assembly and styling are all included in the package price. There are no extra handyman bills and no "styling fee" added at the end. Your only job is to stay in touch on WhatsApp, in English, with one person from start to finish.
When you land, the beds are made, the kitchen is ready and there is a live plant on the table. You walk into a home, not a project.
"I don't know what it will really cost"
Most buyers start with a rough number in mind. Then the extras show up: delivery charges from each shop, assembly fees, a handyman, the lamps and rugs nobody budgeted for, and IVA on top of it all.
What my packages looks like
While I advise everyone to work with a budget, you will know what my packages cost right away as those prices are published because you deserve to plan with real numbers. For example, The Essentials Collection for a two-bedroom apartment starts at €16,995 + IVA, total of €20,563.95 Each additional bedroom for the Essentials Collection is €2,995 and with IVA, €3,623.95
That price includes design, sourcing, transport, assembly and styling. It also includes one live plant and a couple of welcome gifts chosen specifically for you. You will also have three styles to choose from: the Mediterranean Calm, the Contemporary Warmth and the Coastal Elegance, all which will include two tier prices: the Essentials Collection which will start at €16,995 + IVA and the Elevated Collection which will start at €25,995 + IVA.
A few things are priced separately and I will tell you up front:
• Curtains and window treatments: if you decide you want custom/made to measure, that will be a separate vendor and price;
• Electrical work, which I prepare the space for but you pay the electrician directly;
• Upgrades such as a sofa bed, chaise longue, extra armchair or outdoor furniture, plus some fabric and color choices. Not all properties are made alike and therefore, not all properties may have room for armchairs or outdoor furniture; some may need only a small outdoor table and maybe have room for one small sofa or outdoor armchair, while others may have room for a 6 person dining table in addition to a sofa, armchairs and outdoor coffee table.
While you will have plenty choices, you will approve every single item and you will know the price for each piece of furniture prior to paying. So, no surprises when the final decisions are made and you are making the final purchases.
Introducing our furniture packages for the Costa del Sol Homes
Our new furniture packages were created for exactly this buyer: someone who wants a refined Mediterranean home without managing it from abroad. Every package is designed by me, a qualified interior designer, and not picked off one showroom floor.
Three styles, chosen for life on the coast:
• Mediterranean Calm: light oak, soft linen and warm neutrals. Easy, airy and timeless.
• Coastal Elegance: a refined coastal look with layers of blue (or accent color of your choice), crisp whites and natural texture. Polished, never too beachy.
• Contemporary Warmth: darker woods, clean lines and rich, grounded tones for a more modern home.
Each style is built around a consistent wood tone, metal finish and color palette, so the whole home feels intentional.
